EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) is a synthetic rubber known for resistance to water, steam and ozone, along with strong weathering and aging performance in outdoor service. Those traits make it a common choice for plumbing, water-handling and exposed environments where other elastomers can degrade over time.
